We have more up to date recordings in the media section.. 4 mp3’s you can stream and a video of us recording ‘Dark Matter’ in Livingston Studios, London. We are writing (still!) and are coming out with some really good stuff, and are not too far off an album material wise..

We spent a day in Livingston studios in Wood Green, London at the beginning of the month. We were offered a day there free to record a track with Jon Lelubre who has been doing an internship there after finishing his music engineering degree. Livingston is an excellent facility, and has been involved with some great artists such as Muse, Skunk Anansie, Bjork, Primal Scream, Placebo, Bush, Buena Vista Social Club, Mansun, Kula Shaker, & many more... The day went very well, & Jon was great to work with & a really nice guy all round! So big thanks to Livingston Studios & Jon for this opportunity! Jon had found us online, and liked our music so we met up prior to the day in our studio to play live for him, & discuss how it would all work..

Also, we were there with our new bassist!! Welcome to Martin Szomszor, who has been playing with us for the last couple of months & is fitting in perfectly! This is why it has been a bit quiet on the website recently as we have been very busy.. We have just got the 1st mix of our recording back from Jon, & it is sounding very good indeed! We will put a mix up as soon as we are satisfied we have the final mix.

We also shot some video & photos at Livingston, there is a new gallery in the ‘Studio’ section under ‘Images’ where we have the photos, so have a look. We will upload some video clips to this site and You-Tube as soon as we have edited what we have.

So, all in all a good couple of months in the world of Isurus! Finally a bassist who fits in like a dream, & a great recording session, alongside lots of tracks under development coming together nicely. More updates very soon I believe!

New updates to the Images section! New pictures of our new studio, and instruments! We have been very busy over the last couple of months getting our new studio how we want it, & generally playing  there, getting used to the vibe of it. It has a much nicer sound than our old studio, and far more space in the control room which is nice, and much less cramped than our last one.

Also Dave’s guitar rig has undergone a metamorphosis, and is now a considerably better sounding beast, and all under midi control.... Go over to our forum for detailed pics of the build. Other than that it has been business as usual, recording & writing! Still getting our pre production demos together.

We have 3 new videos in the Media section of the site, as well as on You Tube. There are two videos of Lizod playing some very heavy sections of two new songs; ‘Down There’ & ‘Mare Crissium’, & a work in progress demo of a song called ‘Last Scene’ which has a rather interesting video.....

In other news we are moving into our new studio in about a week which is going to be very good indeed, especially as we have been selling gear, & buying other more tasty gear! See forum for details....

We have just posted an ad up on gumtree looking for a singer and bass player and have had a couple of responses already. Fingers crossed we find who we are looking for. Here it is:

We have recently been selling various pieces of musical equipment in order to buy a new recording system and upgrade both of our rigs (drums and guitar). As such the drum kit has been lying around the studio in pieces for the past couple of weeks although we have just put it back together. We have also just received our new recording system and are currently in the process of soldering wires (LOADS) in order to hook it up and get it in use. Due to be completed by the end of today (09/02/09).
 
We have also received news that we will be moving into a new studio at the end of March. The new studio will have better sound proofing and a better layout. Needless to say we can't wait to get in there and start recording our latest material with our new gear. We'll post pictures of the new place along with some of our new gear very soon.

We have started pre production on 18 tracks. We will be finalising parts and arrangements for each of them, and making some pre production mixes which we will put up on this site. Once we have the songs sorted out we will start to record them all properly and make polished final recordings of them. Also there have been a few more images added of the studio & Tom in the studio.

We've been in the studio working hard on new material over the past few weeks. Our forum is expanding and we're filling it up with entertaining content to make it an interesting place to visit. You can link to it by clicking on the icon  marked 'Forum' in the left hand panel. We should have some live recordings and videos to post up at some point during the next couple of weeks too. We've got loads of great new songs in progress and they will probably be all coming together at the same time over the next couple of months. Our plan is to get some new material in place and play some concerts during 2009. We're still looking for a bass player and singer.

We have updated the media section, a few new video’s and mp3’s... Also the layout is a bit clearer and has more space for lots more new additions over the coming months! We will hopefully be starting work on some proper recordings of finished pieces soon, and when they are done they will be on here for you to listen to.

We have been busy preparing for a few gigs with our other band Fade To Midnight recently, and writing for both bands. There is a lot of Isurus material on the way which is sounding really good, and we should hopefully be able to put a few mp3 clips and videos up of some bits in the near future as all the media on here at present is fairly old! We are working on some demos of various new tracks at the moment, all writing in progress, but it will give you an idea of where we are heading.... Signs point to heavy!

We now have a forum fully up and working, so check it out! You can find it in the menu to the left. We are working on plenty of music at the moment, and three videos of a jam on an idea we are putting together are on our you tube page.

Also today the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) will be powered up at the CERN lab in Geneva, which is exciting news for anyone interested in particle and theoretical  physics. We are looking forward to some interesting information and data being collected over the next few years which will prove or disprove a lot of the different theories concerning the make-up of our universe, and reality itself. Exciting times!

More videos, music, and photos have been added to this site and our My Space, Facebook, and You Tube pages, so go and check it all out! There are links to all of them in both the ‘Links’ and ‘Contact’ sections of this site. We are starting to settle in to the studio and have been writing new material together as well as reworking old ideas. Our most recent idea can be found in the ‘Media’ section under ‘Videos’. It is a work in progress and was recorded with all of 1 microphone. It's great to finally have a place to rehearse and write new material and it looks like we'll make a lot of progress quickly over the coming few months. So expect more excerpts to be added in the near future....

We have been in our new studio for a couple of weeks now, and have spent many days setting up and installing all of our equipment in the best possible way, and jamming of course! There have already been some major re-oganising as we try to optimise the space for the best sound and most fluid workflow. In the ‘Equipment’ section under ‘Studio’ (‘Images’ main menu) we have put up some pictures of the studio, and our newly installed Lynx system, and outboard. There will be more photos to come I’m sure!! We are very pleased with how it has all turned out and are very positive about the music that is going to be made here.

Also we have added some more photos to the Live Photos section of the Images section.

We have finally got a permanent studio space, which we are moving into next wednesday! Finally it has all come through for us, and the space is exactly what we have been looking for. It has a live room and a control room with a window looking through to the live room, which has a very nice dry sound. Expect pictures once we have installed all our gear and got ourselves up and running. Very, very happy. Friday the thirteenth, unlucky for some.......

Another thing we are working on is getting a You Tube channel up and running, and sorting out our My Space page, which is currently rather sparse! A page on Facebook is on the way too, details will be put on this site when it is all completed. Also we have been preparing for our first gig with our other live project Fade To Midnight (see ‘Side Projects’ on the menu bar) which is tomorrow night at a private party, should be a lot of fun!

New addition to the site! We have added a mini-site, which has a breakdown of the various projects we have been involved in, and are currently working on alongside Isurus. We have lots of mp3’s you can stream direct from the site, and information about the various projects.

Studio has unfortunately fallen through at the last minute, but we will still be getting one, just not quite as soon as we hoped.

All the problems with the site are now sorted, which is a great relief, as I can now get away from my computer.

We have been viewing studios to let as our new permanent base for the project, since we moved out of our last studio we have been looking for a place we would be comfortable to work in long term. Once we have the studio set up we will concentrate on writing and recording our debut album as Isurus. We have a backlog of around 60 cd’s worth of ideas and songs in various states of development that we have amassed over the last two years, which we need time in a studio to develop into finalized pieces.
